THE YELLOW BRICK ROAD

The Yellow Brick Road (10-29-09) is the result of fussing with one of my oldest photos. Not mad about it, but it tickles my imagination at least. I do keep trying to reclaim many of these old photos that didn't work back then but had something I really liked. However, I often wind up "going abstract" with them as there is no rescuing them in their original forms. Though the original for "The Yellow Brick Road" almost makes it. Here it is (untitled):

But I just can't get the "lighting" right (sort of hazy or greyish?) and still maintain the proper contrasts and details. Also, the angle at which I had to take the picture is off, and no amount of cropping and mild tilting could help it. Plus there are little areas I'd have to paint over in an already worrisome picture. So I went with what its shapes suggested instead, ambling down that yellow brick road.

NOTE: In most browsers you can click on a photo to view a larger version. There are many more photos posted here than show at any given time in this left-hand column. See the Archives listing (below Previous Posts) in the right hand column. And here’s the link if you wish to read an Introduction, Background, & Technical Aspects post about this blog.

‘til next take, may you enjoy life in the ever changing light,
