BOWING OUT

I'm posting this years-old picutre, Bowing Out (8-25-10 10013v2), today more out of nostalgia than because I think it's a "successful" photo. It's been years since this cactus (is that what it is?) has been supported so it could climb the wall of this chimney. I just noticed yesterday that once again there are hooks to which holding ties can be looped as it grows. I missed one of its blossoms already as they don't last very long, wilting as the one in this pic had. But I'm hoping to catch any future ones this year in all their opened glory. And it's not only the beauty that draws me to them, but the associated memories around these blossoms as they adorn the wall. I may have mentioned before here (back quite a ways) how residents would gather beneath it, joyfully anticipating and then viewing the blooms.

See the Archives listing (below Previous Posts) in the right hand column. And here’s the link if you wish to read an Introduction, Background, & Technical Aspects post about this blog.

‘til next take, may you enjoy life in the ever changing light,
