PRAISE FOR THE DARK
"Praise for the Dark" (12-3-15 007v2) was worked up today from a very new photo. We're still getting the occasional lovely rose blossom in our drought stricken garden. Delightful surprises, each one. I was happy this pic (once I gave up trying larger crops, and took it down to just the rose itself) needed very little fussing. Leaving it's own beautiful face to shine. BTW, it was a day shot. I darkened the midtones way down to drop out the messy background, painted out a tiny bit of remaining "schmutz," and then lightened the rose's color a bit. I also used the diffuse filter and did a little sharpening.
