Overview, above, was taken yesterday, from the balcony outside the library on the grounds of our retirement community. I've been largely beached (due to arthritis) on the second floors of our complex as our elevator is out for repairs for at least three weeks. But it's truly an ill wind that doesn't blow anyone some good. This is the first decent shot in my five years living here that I've gotten of this view. That's a combination of coming out on this balcony for the first time in ages to get some sunlight and the old camera my friend gave me. As to the camera, I didn't do any fussing with settings at all. (I've downloaded the manual and will be looking through it for adjustment hints soon.) It does produce a slightly shady spot that shows in some photos but now that I know this, I can compose shots so that it's not on a solid light space of the picture. And although this camera has a lower pixel count than mine, I can still crop in rather closer than I'd thought I'd be able to. So I now have an overall better camera to use until I get my own new one.

Here below is Gazebo on the Edge, the area on the other end of the pool:

On the Way, below, is an old photo I just stumbled over, taken with my camera. It gave me a smile to see that elevator sign, given we don't have use of it right now:

And this, below, is an untitled shot I took as our going on 50 year old elevator was first being worked on (about a week ago). It's also from my camera. I'm actually somewhat surprised it came out given my camera's quirks. But I was so tickled to see the guts of this poor over-worked elevator that I had to try to get a picture. About 200 people live here in this three story complex at any given time. And this little elevator doubles as a freight elevator for much of the furniture that's constantly getting moved in and out.
