THE DROWNED MAN

The Drowned Man is a brand new version of an almost three year old photo. Need I even say that I drowned it in photoshop filters? However, no tilting (twisting) or applying the spherical function this time. This one's the result of several other filters, such as glowing lines, accent edges, maybe paint daub (plus color and mid-tone manipulation) ... can't recall exactly. Which lack of memory is leading me to think I should jot down each filter as I apply it, just in case I ever want to go for a similar effect again. Of course, I've long since discovered that the pixel size of a photo and its contents (variety of colors, shapes of shadows, etc.) can influence how a filter's action actually looks. It's pretty much a crap shoot. I.e., I could apply the exact same filters, in the same order, to two different pictures and not get the same ultimate effect. Well, I just talked myself out of the need to keep notes as I work. Phew! That's a relief. It would be too much left brain work in the middle of right brain fun.

NOTE: In most browsers you can click on a photo to view a larger version. There are many more photos posted here than show at any given time in this left-hand column. See the Archives listing (below Previous Posts) in the right hand column. And here’s the link if you wish to read an Introduction, Background, & Technical Aspects post about this blog.
