OCTOBER STROLL

"October Stroll" (10-4-14 014v3) was just fixed up a bit from an original I rediscovered wandering around my folders, bored and discouraged. I'd done a lot of morphing this morning and not come up with much of anything that was satisfying, or even just passable. When I opened the folder the original for today's pic is in I was surprised to note pix I'd not worked on much, as I recall because I'd found them not very compelling. Well, I'd still say these pix of my afternoon stroll behind some of the buildings on our grounds aren't compelling. But they are evocative now. I may even take a walk here again soon. It's a nice short stroll that I tend to forget is available. Back to this pic, for once I did very little to it. It's not at all cropped (which is probably the single most unusual thing for me to say about a pic of mine) and only very slightly color saturated. I then applied the poster edges filter to clarify things a bit. With those changes from deep shadow all the way to brilliant sunlight things needed it. Usually I find the poster edges filter a bit too "cartoony." But I've usually tried it on pix that have been cropped way down in size and in this case it was applied to a much larger pic. Therefore the effect of it is more subtle. [Note on seeing this pic on blogger: Sigh, as happens here more often than I'd like, now that I've seen it posted to blogger, it looks a bit different from how it appears in MS Picture Manager and Photoshop. The poster edges filter effect is somewhat more apparent. I don't have time or I'd post the pre-poster edges version instead.]
