CHRISTMAS LIGHTS

The roses in "Christmas Lights" (12-24-13 006v2) were actually Christmas roses, as I took the pic on Christmas Eve in 2013. I've others shots I took that day of several of these roses that I've posted since that eve. I liked this one but somehow never got around to fixing up it's little problems before today, on the way to Christmas again (some painting out of distracting bits and adjusting the crop). It wasn't a night shot. I decreased the midtones to drop out most of the background detail and color. I also fussed at the colors somewhat, to bring out that lovely yellow. And applied the diffuse filter, then sharpened it. BTW, we didn't get as many of any of our usual late fall roses this year (due to the drought, and lack of proper care as well, I hear). So I'm doubly grateful to have pix such as this one.

See the Archives listing (below “Previous Posts”) in the right hand column. And here’s the link if you wish to read an Introduction, Background, & Technical Aspects post about this blog.

‘til next take, may you enjoy life in the ever changing light,
