MIDNIGHT LIGHTS; & MOUNTAIN SUNSET

There's a feeling I get when looking at this distant mountain view from an overpass above our community's front gate, late at night, with the frogs croaking (and only an occasional car passing), the air chilly (even in summer), and no one else around me. "Midnight Lights" (2-3-15 001v5a) almost captures it (at least for me). I've made many versions of this pic (changes in texture and especially in color combinations, as well as crops). I keep trying to reclaim it from a persistent issue or two of distracting areas within it. And I also came close to succeeding there with "Midnight Lights."

And here's one of those other versions, "Mountain Sunset" (2-3-15 001v7), which shows the distractions I tried to compensate for or crop out in other versions. I do, however, like the colors in "Mountain Sunset." BTW, it's one of those pix I think looks a bit better in a larger view, so try clicking on it if you'd like --

NOTE: In most browsers you can click on a photo to view a larger version. There are many more photos posted here than show at any given time in this left-hand column. See the Archives listing (below Previous Posts) in the right hand column. And here’s the link if you wish to read an Introduction, Background, & Technical Aspects post about this blog.
