WHERE HAS ALL THE COLOR GONE

"Where Has All the Color Gone" (5-2-10 10002v8) is a new version made today of a very old pic. I never tire of trying to get decent shots of these sorts of blossoms with their long stamens and that one central one that's like a tiny hand or sometimes star. Unfortunately for me, they are almost always in the middle of a very messy display of other flora and distracting schmutz. In this case, increasing the midtones dropped out a lot of the messy background. And although I didn't convert to black and white to clean it up (I just wanted to see how it might play up the contrasts), it did help minimize the background distractions.

NOTE: In most browsers you can click on a photo to view a larger version. There are many more photos posted here than show at any given time in this left-hand column. See the Archives listing (below “Previous Posts”) in the right hand column. And here’s the link if you wish to read an Introduction, Background, & Technical Aspects post about this blog.

‘til next take, may you enjoy life in the ever changing light,
