TREE OF LIFE

"Tree of Life" (8-17-18 012v2) is a brand new pic, one of a few I took on my last long walk (and they're the first I've snapped in ages). I'd resolved when doing some photo editing the other day, to take pix of trees mostly and work up a collection, if you will, over time. Not that I don't already have gazillions of tree pix, but now I'll be doing it with intent and focus. Of course, it remains to be seen how long this resolve lasts. Especially given the difficulties I'm having taking long walks these days. (I'm hoping it's just the hot weather draining my energy and will.) Oh, and the title of this new pic is also meant to echo the Tree of Life in the Hebrew Kabbalah. And this has even more symbolism, given that the sunlit building in the pic's background is the Jewish student center of UCSB. (If you're interested, here's a link to info on the Hermetic Kabbalah/Tree of Life. There are two diagrams of the tree, down on the right of this Wikipedia article. I was quite an enthusiastic student of this tree in my early years of Tarot study. As the Hermetic Kabbalah/Tree of Life has been corresponded in meanings to the cards of the Tarot.)

NOTE: In most browsers you can click on a photo to view a larger version. There are many more photos posted here than show at any given time on scrolling down. See the Archives listing in the right hand column (below “Previous Posts”). And here’s the link if you wish to read an Introduction, Background, & Technical Aspects post about this blog.
