THE MINE FIELDS OF MEMORY
I'd thought to choose a pic of mine and write a haiku or tanka inspired by it, somehow acknowledging today is Memorial Day. Well, that just did not happen. Finding a pic I did not want to but felt compelled to (unsuccessfully) edit was hard enough. But the couple I liked enough "as is" did not generate any sort of little poem. Then I hit on this one, an untitled, unposted one from about one year ago. And a title for it popped right away -- "The Mine Fields of Memory" (5-13-18 034v3) -- that can be read in light of it being Memorial Day. So I'll leave it at this. And add my express gratitude for the all those who have served and are serving in the military.
