AT THE TAILOR'S

"At the Tailor's" is an old photo, taken after a wild fire. It was probably the 2009 late summer La Brea fire. Those are ashes, not dried rain drops, on the large blue canna leaf. As often with pictures I take of bright colors, and especially canna leaves, the colors were somewhat intensified by the camera. An "accident" I often welcome.

I usually have some idea of what sort of photo I'd like to post here. Today I didn't so I went to folder I rarely open, Other Photos. It has pictures that for various reasons have been disconnected from their Adobe numbered folders and/or are edits beyond the one saved edit that my ancient version of Adobe permits. I usually forget Other Photos is there; it just hangs out way at the end of my gazillions of Adobe folders.

This particular photo of mine is only now in my Other Photos folder as it was attached to and commented on in an email a while back from a friend. I'd lost it; probably deleting the original in some sort of frustration. (It may have been the ashes that bothered me, as I'm not so sure about them now.) She really liked it, commenting that the leaves look like fabric. Hence the title. Thanks, Eva, for the comment and the copy of the photo you found in a online album I'd forgotten I'd started back then.

NOTE: In most browsers you can click on a photo to view a larger version. And here’s the link if you wish to read an Introduction, Background, & Technical Aspects post about this blog.

‘til next take, may you enjoy life in the ever changing light,

Do you find your reactions to your photos change even more over the years than to your poems? I find that. Weird.

Thanks again!
