RETURN TO THE SEA, & SWEPT AWAY
Return to the Sea (9-13-13) above, was just taken yesterday (and worked on this morning). I was fascinated by the peeling bark on the tree next to where I was sitting and have a folder of pix of it. Close-ups, long shots, and so on. As I had thought while snapping away, I didn't have to do any twisting of these shapes, they are as they were on the tree. Though obviously I did other stuff to the original of this photo: cropping, color inversion, accenting the edges, and then flipping it on its side and a wee bit of color saturation.
Swept Away (9-12-13) below, is from the same much larger original photo, cropped and flipped upside down, and with very little fussing done other than color inversion:
