CELEBRATING THE RAIN; & ANGLING

Oh, yes, Celebrating the Rain (3-1-14 002v3) indeed!! And may we have more of it over the next month. If we do, we here in central and south California just might catch up after these years leading to a drought emergency. (I do feel concern over the areas where mudslides occur, but if our news reports are any reflection of reality folk have been preparing for such eventualities.) Residents who saw me snapping pix late yesterday and earlier today made a bit of lighthearted fun of me. Hey, what's the harm in taking pix that have a high probability of not coming out well? I'm having a great time looking at the shapes and highlights ... and watching the rain!! ... and listening to it make those little smacking sounds ... and smelling the rain-fresh air. And this pic isn't too terrible, after all. Certainly no worse than most of my clear weather efforts.

Here's another from today, Angling (3-1-14 021v2). That chair wasn't blown that way by the wind. Residents often tilt chairs like that when rain is expected to keep them as dry as possible. (Though I was tempted to call this photo "Blown Away" anyway since it certainly does look as if that chair were storm-tossed.)
