0% CONTAINMENT
0% Containment (6-10-09) is one photo I need to explain a bit. Maybe it's obvious, but once this old photo began to resemble fire I could not get away from the influence of film I've seen of the huge wild fire here near Yosemite National Park. As to the title, the progress in fighting a fire is spoken of in terms of the percentage of containment. Of course, as usual for this introverted person, there's personal resonance as well.
As to the picture style, it somewhat resembles one I posted here a few days ago. I've been drawn to particular filters in photoshop recently. But I won't stay with them overly long; I'll eventually get bored and move on to learning new functions. And at the risk of repeating myself, I always wonder at the issue of personal style. When is it an on-going and interesting exploration, and when does it begin to dull the artist's vision and/or become boring/repetitive for the viewer? I suppose that's an ultimately unanswerable inquiry but it does feed into my quickly feeling the need to try something new.
