MOON WITH TREE & WALL

"Moon With Tree & Wall" (1-4-15 001v4) was just taken last night and fussed with this morning. I'm frequently trying to get shots of the gorgeous full moons we see here and rarely succeeding. This time I tried the "night" setting on this little compact digital for the first time in ages. You have to hold the camera still -- hahaha! -- such a long time. Of course it didn't work. In fact, resulted in even worse pix. (Yeah, I've heard of things called tripods ...) Fortunately, I've gotten in the habit of taking almost all shots of anything, using at least two different settings, hoping one will come out. The source photo for "Moon With Tree & Wall" is the only one I took at various settings, from three different vantage points on our grounds, to come out good enough to be reasonably fudged with and still look like a moon shot. The original pic is, of course, way too grainy. But it was fun to crop and then torture this version out of it. BTW, today is my 71st birthday. And I'm grateful to still have the urge and opportunity to pursue these sorts of challenges, no matter their ultimate outcomes.

NOTE: In most browsers you can click on a photo to view a larger version. There are many more photos posted here than show at any given time in this left-hand column. See the Archives listing (below Previous Posts) in the right hand column. And here’s the link if you wish to read an Introduction, Background, & Technical Aspects post about this blog.

‘til next take, may you enjoy life in the ever changing light,
