OUT OF THE SHADOWS
"Out of the Shadows" (4-21-15 004v3w) was just morphed this morning from a fairly recent photo. I have gazillions of versions of this one crop of the original shot. Then there's all the versions I've made of other pix of the same fern that I took that day. This is one spring romance I'm very happy to have drag out (smile). Oh, about the pic? I've discovered a fun combination of filters. When I alternate a series (maybe two or three) of sharpening with anistropic diffuse I get that sort of melting/painting like yet still nicely clear outline effect at edges. Rather more pleasing to my eye than other ways of outlining or emphasizing edges in Photoshop. BTW, much more was done to this pic along the way, but it was this that made me say at last "Ah-HAH, I've found my post for the day!" I hasten to add that I did nothing to those lovely fern shapes and curves. Those are due entirely to the fern's natural artistry.
