AUTUMN RAIN

"Autumn Rain" (2-7-10 19432v2) was just now morphed out of a very old original pic of mine. Another of those I've always liked but found troublesome for various reasons. Today's version will do. Though I do hope to some day be able to "fix" the original so I can share a more natural pic of this tree that no longer exists. Like that tree whose achingly new tree stump I posted a pic of here a couple days ago, this one paid the price for living in community with humans. Though to give credit where credit is due, you can see the efforts that were made over the years to keep it, given all that pruning of the branches right above the trunk. But it's roots were wreaking havoc on our underground pipes. And this area now has lots of drought resistant greenery that is certainly more suitable to our climate. But the heart loves what it loves and remembers it all. BTW, that sort of rain-like effect is from the "frosted" filter in Photoshop, with some diffusing and sharpening as well. And I clearly did lots of fussing at the colors and contrast, etc. FYI, I did not come to the original pic thinking to turn it into a night time rain pic. That only suggested itself to me late in the editing/exploring process.

NOTE: In most browsers you can click on a photo to view a larger version. There are many more photos posted here than show at any given time on scrolling down. See the Archives listing in the right hand column (below “Previous Posts”). And here’s the link if you wish to read an Introduction, Background, & Technical Aspects post about this blog.
