THE SAMHAIN TREE

"The Samhain Tree" (9-28-18 002v2f) was just re-morphed from a fairly recent pic of mine. Between this blog and my dreams&poetry blog, I've posted several other versions in recent weeks. Today's was clearly influenced by Samhain (Halloween). (From internet: "The Festival of Samhain marked the end of the Celtic year and the beginning of the new one and as such can be seen to be the equivalent of New Year's Eve." And it is still celebrated by many neo-pagan groups as New Year's.) A tremendous amount of fussing went into this version. Maybe even more than usual for me with some of my more abstract pix. And it's still not quite balanced visually, at least to my old, cataracted eyes. I.e., that roundish area in the upper left tends to outweigh the rest of the pic's shapes. In other words, it's still a bit distracting. Ah well, as one of the tenets in that ancient Japanese aesthetic points out: nothing's perfect. :-) And the other two tenets? Nothing's finished, and nothing's permanent. All three considered, they kinda, sorta describe life, ey?

NOTE: In most browsers you can click on a photo to view a larger version. There are many more photos posted here than show at any given time on scrolling down. See the Archives listing in the right hand column (below “Previous Posts”). And here’s the link if you wish to read an Introduction, Background, & Technical Aspects post about this blog.

‘til next take, may you enjoy life in the ever changing light,
