LAST DANCE OF SUMMER
Last Dance of Summer is a few months old, just re-worked this morning. It's one of those problem photos with all sorts of distracting background mess. But the shapes those petals and seed center make always drew me. So I color inverted it, accented its edges, and greatly lightened the mid-tones (which is how I got that messy background to drop out). Then clearly I did some further fussing with the colors. I'd never have thought I'd develop a satisfactory version of this picture today, given how long I sat at this computer, scrapping versions of different photos that just weren't going anyplace good at all. Guess sometimes it really does pay not to give up.
