AFTERNOON OF A FERN

"Afternoon of A Fern" (5-28-16 006v3) was just now morphed from a brand new pic. And, yes, the title takes off from the famous ballet "Afternoon of a Faun," equally famously danced by Nijinsky. Not much else I can add with any brevity, as I fussed quite a bit to get it to where it is now. I have three other versions I like almost as much, but those can wait for another day for posting. This one best suggests that subtext of erotic desire that the ballet conveys. BTW, I did not fudge with any of the lines and shapes; those are as they are in the fern and the original pic. Though I did do some diffusing and sharpening to emphasize them. (Click on the pic to see the details, especially the curling ends of the fern branches.)

NOTE: In most browsers you can click on a photo to view a larger version. There are many more photos posted here than show at any given time in this left-hand column. See the Archives listing (below “Previous Posts”) in the right hand column. And here’s the link if you wish to read an Introduction, Background, & Technical Aspects post about this blog.
