The original for Flash Flood is one of my earliest photos, taken in April of 2009. Today's edit felt especially rewarding. (That's not to say I think it's a great version, just that the process gave me something more than usual.) I've even posted another version of it today to my dreams & poetry blog. It's actually of the cross section of the stump of a cut down weeping willow. It was a sad day when I saw that, as the tree had been one of my favorites to pat gently when I passed it on my several-times-weekly walks to the ocean overlook, as I've always had a special affection for trees and especially weeping willows. The same tree stump also became the source for a series of metaphors in one of my (non-dream) poems about a painful ending.
