Tempering the Sword is a bit over two years old, as it is (i.e., no recent re-working). It came to mind today because it had rained before I went out yesterday. And I had to pass up taking photos of some gorgeous water gems in this same stand of cannas since I was in a rush to meet someone. I tried sour grapes, telling myself the light wasn't right anyway, but it didn't work. I know from experience how some of the chanciest shots turn out the best. Ah, well, we can't have everything.

Here's another sample (below) of the sort of thing I saw as I hurried by those rain wet cannas late yesterday afternoon. Dream Abacus is also over two years old and not revised since then:
