GIFT FROM A STAR

"Gift from a Star" (4-3-12 11532e) is an old photo, just very recently cleaned up. For such a little picture it required a bunch of "painting out" of distracting schmutz. But somehow I just wanted to rescue it if I could. Maybe because it's such a lovely yellow and that was my mother's favorite color. Maybe it's that almost star-shaped "platter" the calyx forms, as if it's offering up the little rose. Whatever reason, this photo has bugged me to clean it up and post it whenever I've happened upon it. Now, it's done. My critical eye is still not content, but whatever this little photo calls to in me is.
