Lantern was re-worked from an old photo several days ago. At the time I was not all that happy with it. Yet today when I came across it by accident looking for a different picture in the same folder, I found I do like it. (I even think I'm going to post it as as a possible Hermit card to my Tarot Gallery & Journal blog/Found Tarot deck-in-progress.) This is just one more example of why one should be wary of deleting photos, especially without giving them some time to settle thoroughly. And is also largely why I have folders with thousands of pictures in them. Of course, I also really like having a pool of photos to dip into during dry times, as now, when I'm not taking new pictures.

"Lantern" is a vastly cropped version of the original. I then inverted the colors, changed them to sepia tones and warmed them a bit, and fussed with the definition (which is admittedly close to going totally wonky).

NOTE: In most browsers you can click on a photo to view a larger version. There are many more photos posted here than show at any given time in this left-hand column. See the Archives listing (below Previous Posts) in the right hand column. And here’s the link if you wish to read an Introduction, Background, & Technical Aspects post about this blog.

‘til next take, may you enjoy life in the ever changing light,
