"Solar Power" came to mind today as I just gave it as a thank you card to one of our fellow residents. This particular "banana leaf plant" (as I call it) is another I enjoy watching through the seasons. This photo was taken just about a year ago. It's not looking quite as perky this year, however, and there's lots of other plants around and partially obstructing it -- at least from any angle I can shoot from, given my limitations. But I'm still always drawn to stop and gaze when the sun comes through its leaves as it does in this picture.

P.S. I just googled to see if I could find the name for this plant and banana leaf seems to be correct. There were too many varieties in the search results to look through right now, so I still don't have the exact name. But at least I'm not on some other planet all together in calling it a banana leaf plant. And in googling I was reminded that one can now upload a photo of what one is looking for. Now I pretty much have no excuse for not using correct names. :-)

NOTE: In most browsers you can click on a photo to view a larger version. And here’s the link if you wish to read an Introduction, Background, & Technical Aspects post about this blog.
