"The Call of the Channel Islands" (11-2-17 028v4) was taken last Halloween. I've had it hanging around in this version since then. And always liked it but today (as I did when I first fussed at it) I kept wanting to lighten all those dark shadows. And each time I did, in whatever fashion and to what degree, it spoiled the entire "feel" of the pic. So I accepted the darkness to retain the "impact" of the light of the distant clouds and water, with the Channel Islands clearly showing. I'd also at one time painted out that wire in the sky, but that, too, seems to bring something to the whole of the pic, so left it in. All I did (and retained) today was a minor cropping, and some painting out of a distracting white chalk circle on the sidewalk in the foreground. BTW, this is one of those pix that looks better in a larger version, so click on the image if you'd like to check it out.
