NOSTALGIA

Nothing much to say about Nostalgia (4-6-14 008v3). It's a new photo, just re-worked yesterday. And it puts me in mind of a (hand-tinted) daguerreotype, therefore the title.

HEART EMERGENT

This is how the rose in Heart Emergent (4-6-14 002v5) was actually shaped, i.e. no Photoshopping. Though I obviously did mess with all the colors in the photo.

AMOR AMARYLLIS

Before I start complaining again, I should say I'm content with the photo I finally got to load properly to this blog, the above Amor Amaryllis (2-19-10 19963v5). However, it's not the one I tried to post, in several different versions no less. I kept trying to work around (again!) blogger's weird way of posting certain sorts of photos I produce. But to no good effect. Very frustrating indeed. But to return to "Amor Amaryllis." This is an old photo that I've had sitting in a similar version for a couple of years. This morning when I happened on that version I saw what it needed and revised it.

BEST BUDDIES

Best Buddies is a very old photo just re-worked this morning. Usually I have some idea what pic I'm after or at least folder I want to work in. Today I just began clicking on old folders at random to see what would catch my eye. And the original source pic for "Best Buddies" hooked my interest but not until after opening a lot of other folders. It's actually of pale pink blossoms which once I'd fussed with coloring and "textures," I flipped 90 degrees. The blossoms seemed to now demand to be side by side and that led to the title.

CAVERNS OF THE HEART

Caverns of the Heart (4-6-14 003v3) is of that same flower from which I made yesterday's "Tattered Masque." I originally thought to simply clean it up and share a straightforward shot of this huge, gorgeous pale pink rose. But ultimately could not resist the pull to fool with its suggestive petal shapes and shadows. Some other day for realism.

TATTERED MASQUE

Tattered Masque (4-6-14 001v3) was just taken a couple day ago and edited yesterday. I have a couple of straightforward shots of this rose that I'll probably post here soon enough. Their backgrounds need some painstaking cleaning up and I'm just not up to it right now. Even though I really like the photos. If it were only a matter of the "painting out" process I'd not be so resistant to the work. But I'm also anticipating that on-going trouble with color discrepancies when I post them here to blogger. (It happens only with heavily color edited photos. Though I've yet to figure out if there's one particular function's result that causes the problem or if it's just the combination of several.) Anyway, back to "Tattered Masque" -- this title is another example of my imagination. I see a face slightly above and to left of center that looks rather grumpy at being exposed. How's that for projection?

THE SIDHE ON A BENDER

The Sidhe on a Bender (8-20-09 5835ev7) was just re-worked from a very old photo. I have several other similar versions of it (one posted here under the title "Dance of the Fae"). Its ins and outs obviously fascinate me and were making me a little woozy today, therefore, "bender" in the title. (Woozy? Yes, I spent a lot of time trying out different ways of editing the several different versions. All that popping onto the screen in front of my aging eyes ...)
