DANCING THE NIGHT TO PIECES

"Dancing the Night to Pieces" (12-2-17 012v2c) was heavily tortured out of a rather new pic yesterday and just now further fussed with (increasing the size of the "pieces" ["crystallize"] and applying a wee bit of "surface blur" as well). Also added some very mild "poster edges." This is the sort of journey on which pix of trees can take me. LOL! BTW, click on this pic if you want to see the details (there're lots); it'll come up in another, larger version.

FALL LEAVES AN IMPRESSION

"Fall Leaves an Impression" (12-6-17 005v5c) is from a pic taken earlier this month. I fudged it into this form a couple of weeks ago, and just this morning did a wee bit of clean-up, cropping, and contrast work. This is really a celebratory posting, in a way. I can now take long walks again as the air quality is almost normal now, after the Thomas wildfire. I've done a couple walks but haven't made it to these trees (had catch up shopping to do). But will probably make it to visit with them on my walk today. So, I'd better stop keyboarding here and get my walking show on the road!

THE LIGHT WILL ALWAYS OUT

"The Light Will Always Out" (2-7-10 19445v2) was just slightly tweaked. It's a very old version of one of my earliest pix. All I did was crop it a wee bit today. BTW, much of the time there's no obvious (at least to me) correlation between my mood and thoughts, and the photo I post here and/or what I choose to title it. In this case, though, both the pic and the name reflect my state of mind and heart. It's really a wish fulfillment statement, though, as I'm afraid things aren't going to be all that "sunny" in a particular situation in my life, ever again.

WINDOW ON TO WINTER

"Window on to Winter" (3-3-10 10002e) was just morphed ... yep, from an old version of an old pic. And it's in the same folder of pix I've been sort of stuck in for days. Well, not really stuck, I'm enjoying working with these old pix.

FUCHSIA SCRAMBLE

"Fuchsia Scramble" (3-3-10 10002v2g) was just morphed from an old version of an old pic. (You can see an earlier version I tortured out of the same old version by clicking here.) Those amorphous shapes and the short squiggly outlining lines are the result of a function I like but rarely find I can use effectively: underpainting. Also, I almost stayed with the idea of yellow and white scrambled eggs, but when these colors came up on sliding the color bar, I loved them. Of course, there's also the vague suggestion in this pic of a sunrise or sunset with clouds. But I much prefer an illusion to oddly colored scrambled eggs. :-)

FRAGMENTED HEART

"Fragmented Heart" (3-3-10 10002v9d) was just morphed from an old version of a very old pic. And, yeah, it reflects my mood today. Well, at the least the over-riding color is Christmas-like! :-) (BTW, no matter my own state, I do wish everyone a very HAPPY HOLIDAY SEASON!) And (big surprise, ey?) if you'd like to see another version just tortured from that old pic, click here. Be forewarned, though, the new dream poem of mine it's posted above also addresses the issue of a hurting heart. But what to say about "Fragmented Heart." It's clearly been extensively fudged with. Sometimes I try to cut short all the different functions and combinations thereof I try out as I morph a pic. But I've found that once in a great while it's a function I rarely like that will turn out to "make" a pic work, as happened in this case with "watercolor." Then all I did was fuss with the slider choices beneath that function to arrive at "Fragmented Heart."
