AFTER MONET

I might be overstating the resemblance between this pic "After Monet" (4-15-17 001v2) and paintings I recall by Monet (such as his water lilies, and one with a bridge in a garden). But so be it. I like this pic enough to post it. But that may be more a function of how bone tired I am. Took an even longer walk today than usual, had lunch with a friend, did some other sorts of computer work, had dinner with my usual friends, sat on our library balcony in the early evening sun, and now here I am doing more 'puter work. Life is truly good. Not only delightfully imperfect but a big surprise that it's playing out as it is. With little resemblance to all my tortured plans and unrealistic dreams as a much younger person.

WAITING FOR THE HAWK

"Waiting for the Hawk" (4-19-17 014) was just fixed up (cropping, and a bit of color work, and sharpening and diffusing) from a very new pic. This bench is where I was sitting when a hawk flew so close over my head toward the sea it could have grabbed my cap if it wanted to. Earlier that same day, it had circled me so close and low I could have touched its wing tip on the second fly-by. Then a friend some days later got a photo of what I assume to be the same hawk at the bottom of the beach stairs that are just below this fence, holding its prey. I'd also tried to get pix of that hawk days before it ever buzzed me (posted the poor result here a while back). Upshot? I always look for a hawk when I approach this overlook.

ABREAST OF THE CHANGES

"Abreast of the Changes" (5-27-15 017v2d) was just morphed yesterday out of an old pic. Had lots of fun playing with changes in this one I'd not expected at all after applying various filters. Love when that happens!

THE FOG ROLLS ON

"The Fog Rolls On" (4-3-17 035v2) was just fixed up today from a rather new pic. Cropping and a little bit of color work, along with diffusing and sharpening. Had hoped yesterday to get to take more foggy day pix at this beach overlook. But it was way too misty and chilly out, and my joints weren't at all happy. So I turned around for home short of the overlook. It's another grey day out there, but no long walk today as I'm preparing to do a poetry reading tonight in our community's Talent Show. I sure did want to go walking this morning, though. The walks I take have become very important to me. (If not to my joints. My left knee's started joining the complaining chorus of my right knee and left foot. Sigh.)

FORGOTTEN OFFERING

"Forgotten Offering" (4-3-17 018v2) was just fussed out of a very new pic. Nothing much else to say about it, except that it wasn't a night photo. Also, I had put this little bouquet I made of wild flowers on the fence like that while I thought about what I wanted to and did pray/think about. Then I tossed the bouquet as an offering of gratitude into the sea (just below that dark "sky" in this pic).
