RAVELED SLEEVES, TOPPING OFF, & LAST FIRE OF WINTER

Thought I'd share some straight-forward photos for a change. These three were all taken last winter next to the pool on our retirement community grounds. This first one below, "Raveled Sleeves," is of a view I often stop to enjoy before I walk into one of the buildings next to the pool. Of course, it varies greatly depending on weather, time of day, and season, but it's always intriguing:

This next is "Topping Off," and is another favorite view, looking away from the pool, off the grounds. I don't know why but I love that crooked tree branch and have many photos of it at various distances and angles, and times of day, and in different weather:

And this final one for the day is "Last Fire of Winter." It was taken in a corner of that favorite stand of cannas I keep sharing pictures of and talking about. The pool is to one's back in this view:

GESTATION, CHAOS MAGICK, IN THE EYE OF THE UNIVERSE, and Untitled

Here's "Gestation" --

And here's "Chaos Magick" --

This one is "In The Eye Of The Universe" --

This is the rough original from which all three of the above were made ("Untitled") --

When I took "Untitled" two years ago I knew it would be a lot of fun to draw all sorts of abstract pictures from. I.e., that the photo I was framing then was not to be the final version, not at all. But it got lost in the welter of "needs editing" photos I have, until this morning when I suddenly recalled it. I was wondering what sort of picture of mine I could use with my new dreamku series and this shell popped to mind with all its vague shapes. And I was off and running, producing three new versions, with others also suggesting themselves to me for later when I want to pursue them. Of the three versions above, my favorite is the first, "Gestation." But I'm sure these won't be the last I cull from this one picture.
