COMES THE DAWN; & RAIN AT LAST

"Comes the Dawn" (2-12-15 011v5) is a brand new morph of a brand new pic. As is "Rain At Last" (2-12-15 011v6) that's from the same original pic:

Both of these rely heavily on the plastic wrap filter (the former in a reversed form) for their effect. Though prior to plastic wrap I had applied a bunch of other filters. Not to mention color changes and some blurring as well. Hey, what can I say? I get the itch to try one thing, then that suggests another, and so on ....

THE TREE DREAMS

"The Tree Dreams" (12-24-09 10076ev3a) was just morphed this morning from one of my oldest pix. What else to say about it, given it's clearly been heavily Photoshopped. However, I will say that that tree and the silhouetted palms above/behind it (that's what they are) are as they were in the original pic. I didn't do any distorting of shapes and sizes thereof. And (you knew there had to be an "and...") I've always had a wee bit of a problem with the composition. That tree just too nearly divides the pic in half. And cropping (from bottom or top) ruins what draws me to the pic. So, there you have it. As is.

FIDDLING THE TIME AWAY

"Fiddling the Time Away" (2-12-15 001v6) is a brand new pic and morph. It's actually a day shot but didn't work for me as one. It's also an extremely busy area with all sorts of distractions and differing lighting. So I fiddled (pun intended) with it more than might be apparent to get this version. It now gets across some of what I feel standing by that big fiddle head fern without it being too terribly messy looking (I hope).

YOUR BRAIN ON DREAMS; & MIDNIGHT IN THE MOUNTAINS

"Your Brain on Dreams" (8-25-13 015v9) above, was just fudged from a several months old photo. As was "Midnight in the Mountains (8-25-13 015v13) below, and from the same pic:

As usual, their folder is littered with earlier versions, as well. It just takes me so long to come to versions that I feel OK about sharing. It's just like writing dream poems. For all that I post, many others just sit in my files. Funny thing is, though, down the road a piece I sometimes find that rejected earlier versions are just fine of both pix and poems. All they need is a little further tweaking. Ah well, as long as I keep enjoying the process, no matter the results. And as long as this brain keeps on dreaming (literally and metaphorically speaking), I count myself blessed.

SUCCULENT RAIN; SUCCULENT MOON; & SUCCULENT SUN

"Succulent Rain" (1-15-11 10374v3) above, is a brand new morph of a very old pic of mine. As are the two below, "Succulent Moon" (10374v3) and "Succulent Sun" (10374v3), respectively:

BTW, there was a tiny rain puddle in the center of that plant that does have reflections in it in the original pic. And that is what I kept taking off from when fudging with the pic.

FAMILY TREE

"Family Tree" (2-3-15 5835e1c) was just morphed today from a very old photo. I just kept following my nose until the pic landed somewhere I felt comfortable with. Of course the folder it's in is littered now with previous versions. I tend to save as I go along, just in case a particular shaping and/or color combo and/or whatever might call to me later and I know I'll not find my way to it again through the maze of filters I tend to apply. Particularly on days when I'm even fussier than usual, like today.

DRIP DRY; & WINTER FERN

Were "Drip Dry" (2-7-15 008v5) a painting it would be dripping dry as I just now finished morphing it. It's yet another shot of those fern branches I so enjoy looking at. And, yes, I do take time first to enjoy what's in front of me, before reaching for my camera in my bag. Not to mention that just framing a shot often reveals things to me I'd not noticed when just standing there, empty handed. I used a bunch of Photoshop filters on this one. Though not a color one. That's the result of inverting the pic from a largely yellowish-green version. I stumble on some of the color combos I wind up liking the most that way, which is why I always try "invert" just to see what a pic would look like. Of course, not only color is effected by invert, but shadows and therefore what grabs the eye. That, too, is when I can see something about the scene/pic I'd not noted before. Then there's how inversion grabs my imagination. It's often the filter that starts me off on one of those lengthy series of versions of a single pic. Sigh, I wasn't going to say anything, but just can't leave it alone. This is one of those pix in which the colors are different in other programs I view them in: they are a tinge more to the blue. So that background more resembles a clear sky.

And here's one of the other versions from the same original pic (these colors are true to what I see in other programs), "Winter Fern" (2-7-15 008v3):
