BLUE TO THE MAX (Ganesh pic)

Another Ganesh as part of my celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi: "Blue to the Max" (in Ganesh folder, 001v2d). It was just fussed out of a very similar older version of a pic of mine of one of my Ganesh figurines. I've posted other versions of this pic and other pix of this figurine, as well. I initially took this one into the orange-red range as that's His favorite color. But I just couldn't rest with it there. I think even Deities must occasionally get very blue given how we humans behave all too often. And this human is about as blue today as one can get over her own and everyone else's behaviors, so I think sweet Ganesh will forgive me even if I am projecting onto Him.

SEAL BEACH; & Ganesh Bed Throw

"Seal Beach" (8-29-17 020v2) was just now fussed out of a new original pic. It doesn't look any different really than the original, except in small amounts of cropping, color work, sharpening, and diffusing. I also used the lasso function to blur the background even a little more than it is in the original (it was a wee bit distracting sharper).

And here's my Ganesh for today's celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi. It's a throw that could be hung on a wall, it's huge. It's way too big for my little twin bed and swamps my recliner. And you can't see his beautiful feet in this pic; they fall off the end of the bed. But He's so handsome and I love his colors! (Ganesh bed throw, in Ganesh folder, 013v2):

GANESH STEPS UP

Today's Ganesh ("Ganesh Steps Up" in Ganesh folder, 004v3) is a photo of mine of one of my figurines, fussed at in Photoshop and MS Picture Manager. I had thought to observe Ganesh Chaturthi for about five days (I came to it late, and it usually runs about 10). But I'm getting attached to sitting at the altar I set up (as I do every year for this festival) before I go to sleep and thinking about Ganesh and anything else. Also, giving Him some sort of little gift (a sea shell, a gem stone, etc.) each night. So I may go a few days longer. Which means there will be pix of Him here for maybe another 4 days or so. The Ganesh pic that's on my desktop today (found on the internet) is a really sweet one. Puts me in mind of the Baby Ganesh I posted here yesterday. I have an intense need for sweetness right now. So much harshness around; in me, too, my temper's been out.

A Baby Ganesh

I'm not in any shape to do a regular post, but want to continue to honor Ganesh Chaturthi. I always enjoy coming across pix of Ganesh as a baby. Especially today given I'm feeling rather infantile and totally inconsolable. Maybe putting up this dear sweet little Ganesh (in Ganesh folder) that I found on the internet, will ease this awful mood. If not, at least I've stuck with my commitment to honor His Festival each day of it, every year. BTW, I also post a Ganesh pic (different from the one I put up on this blog) every day. Today's is one I've not used on my desktop before, a large dancing Ganesh, slightly darker in aspect than I usually like, with lots of yellow orange.

"Watch that first step, it's a dilly!'

"Watch that first step, it's a dilly!" (8-15-17 004v6e) is only one of ten versions I've made in the past couple of days of the same original pic. Yeah, the original is of that fern I so like observing as it goes through its changes. The title is a well-known line from an old "I Love Lucy" T.V. episode.

And here's a pic for today's contribution to the celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi. (I'll probably be posting a different daily one for three days more.) I found this one on the internet years ago:

THE FERN TAKES OFF; & "Ganesh's Sword Dance"

I have another version of "The Fern Takes Off" (8-15-17 004v7b) that I'll probably name "Phoenix Flight" (can you guess? lots of red in that one). But I really like this more realistic one, especially as it offers that same sense of flight and in a more unusual color palate and shades than I usually use. BTW, yes, this is the same fern I've been working on pix of, on and off, for days now. As to what I did to it? Can't even really recall as I ran it through many different filters and such, one on top of the other. I think the most defining one was the glowing edges filter somewhere along the way, and then color inverting that version, with more minor fussing on color contrasts and some sharpening. But I know I did a lot even before applying glowing edges.

And to honor Ganesh Chaturthi, here's a photo of my letter opener holder, the chivalrous and generous Ganesh in his dancing form ("Ganesh's Sword Dance" in Ganesh pic folder):

BTW, that "sword"/paper opener has the name on it of "Excalibur." I keep this figurine next to my recliner where I do most of my paper work in the evenings. My Ganesh Chaturthi altar this year is filled with figurines, an entire line-up across it. Well, it actually looks more like a chorus line because two of them are dancing (one of them is this one). :-)
