COMING TO LIGHT

Coming to Light (10-6-13, 12207v3) is a little over a year old, and just worked over this morning for the third time. The original shot is a very distant shot of the entire tree. Its leaves in the afternoon light always fascinate me. However, I've yet to find just the right light and angle for a full shot. There are white buildings all around off which the too bright sky shines. Take it later when the sky's softer? I lose the lovely shine on the leaves. Another case in which my lack of tech knowledge (and even greater lack of patience in researching and learning the nuts and bolts of photography) does not serve my wishes well. So be it. I do like this cropped down version.

WHAT THE BEE SEES

What the Bee Sees (5-8-11, 10873ev3), yup, another really old photo just revised today. And, yes again, one I'm ambivalent about. However, given the others I just worked on, this is the pick of the litter IMHO. I'm rather glad being ultimately dissatisfied with my efforts a lot doesn't seem to spoil the experience of making the attempts. It's lovely to get lost in that concentration on color and form, and the various challenges and imaginative enticements they offer. That's just a convoluted way of saying I'm glad I still enjoy the process no matter the results.

A WHALE'S EYE VIEW

A Whale's Eye View (9-15-13, 007v8) is a rather new photo, just re-worked today. I've actually got several other versions of it (both new today and older). But this is the one I am most satisfied with, though it took even more fussing than usual to get to this point of acceptance.

SPONGING OFF

OK, with Sponging Off [Other Pix, 1960ev3] I'm taking a complete flyer. I sort of like it but mostly don't. And that's a more positive take than I have on any of the other pix I worked on this morning. So, here it is. (BTW, it's of an actual "globe" of little blossoms. I just inverted and re-inverted and fussed with the colors, and used the "ocean ripple" filter plus another one or two others for a bit more definition. In other words, I did not create the globe shape itself.)

FEATHER IN HER CAP; & THE LURE

Feather In Her Cap (4-3-12) above, and The Lure (4-3-12) below are from the same old photo version. One of those many, many I've squirreled away to work on at a future date. I'm only marginally pleased by what I've done here in these two versions, but at least they're improvements on the one that's been sitting in that old folder.

You'd think since I'm becoming a bit bored with the effects I've learned to apply so far in Photoshop, I'd get on the stick (er, mouse) and learn some new ones. Well, "you'd" be wrong. My rush (sic: impatience) to get right to working at something I'm imagining continues to get in the way of that sort of effort.
