HEADED FOR HOME; & AFTERNOON NAP

"Headed for Home" (8-4-13 001v2) above, is a new version of an older photo, one that has appeared here before in other versions. This is a view I see almost daily and is just before one enters the hallway down to my rooms. It was taken standing on a overpass between buildings. A favorite place for me to sit and stare out at the mountains and write. "Afternoon Nap" (001v14) below, is this same pic endlessly fussed with, applying many filters and then using liquify. I know there's much more I can be doing with liquify (adjusting brush size and tension, and how one moves the cursor). I look forward to doing so on other pix when I'm a little less blitzed than today. However, I do sort of enjoy the feeling of curling up that "Afternoon Nap" offers.

HEDGE; ANOTHER FALL; & TANGLED

"Hedge" (8-22-14 002v8) above, "Another Fall" (v4) immediately below, and "Tangled" (v14) the third below, are all from the same original brand new pic. It was cropped from a much bigger photo that turned out to be a disappointment. But the background hedge patterns grabbed me, and I was off to crop and then edit endlessly.

BTW, I think these hedges are drying out due to the on-going drought. I've never seen so many of their branches bare. I feel a wee bit embarrassed to enjoy the patterns their dried branches create.

SPACE SEED; & EMERGING CONTINENT

More experimenting with much combining and re-combining of Photoshop filters in both "Space Seed" (9-11-13 053v8) above, and "Emerging Continent" (v15) below:

These two are from the same original photo of a pale white/pink rose on its stem before a lawn. "Emerging Continent" was cropped way down to just the rose section before fussing with it. Have mixed feelings about both of these. But of the many pix I fooled with this morning before I produced these, I guess I like them best.

ALIMENTARY, MY DEAR

"Alimentary, My Dear" (7-20-14 001v23) is recent pic and (would you expect anything else given my propensity for getting stuck on a pic?) one of many versions. May I be forgiven as much for the pun in the title, as for any issues there might be with the photo. However, I do stand firmly behind my enjoyment of the shapes and color family.

POP!; BLACK & WHITE & IN BETWEEN; & BLACK LIGHT MELTDOWN

"POP!" (8-7-14 002v25) is one of many versions of a new photo, as are the other two here today, "Black & White & In Between" (002v5) immediately below, and "Black Light Meltdown" (002v23) the third:

The original for these three is one of those ferns I've been so fascinated with recently. Not much else to say about these pix, except that I had even more fun than ever chasing after my imagination using the tools that Photoshop offers. (And I'm still only wading in the kiddie pool when it comes to the mass of tools in that program!)

LIQUID LIGHT; & THE GROWING GAP

"Liquid Light" (8-16-14 024v10) above, is a very new photo and even newer version thereof. It was taken in the little theatre here on our retirement community grounds and not all that fooled around with. Though I cropped it quite a bit, I applied only one filter, and did no color manipulation. I like sitting sometimes during the day in this theatre and not only because of the view out over the foothills and greenery. The light that suffuses it never fails to be interesting. Below is another version just to show how far afield my imagination can sometimes tug me, "The Growing Gap" (v12):

CRADLE

"Cradle" (8-16-14 014v8) is from the same new pic out of which I fussed yesterday's abstract pix.
