UN NOCHE EN VERANO

"Un Noche En Verano" (5-13-18 034v2a) was just finished (or as finished as any pic of mine ever is :-D). It was taken just a month or so ago, and had been hanging around in an earlier version, awaiting my full attention. Every time I'd come across it I'd think, yeah, get this one ready for posting. Well, honestly, I'm not even sure now that it's ready. It's one of those that the longer I work on it, the more I find I simply must fuss at and "fix" in some way. I had to restrain myself just now or I'd still be at the poor thing. My perfectionism (just another way to say intense anxiety) has really been out and over active recently. At better times, I think of it as how I try to "develop my craft." But in recent days, it just feels like a habit of self-denigration. Yikes! That was a bit of a wandering from this pic. BTW, I clearly used the "glowing lines" function in Photoshop on this. But I also did a great deal more to it, especially in clarifying and smoothing the lines, and then getting them to be colors that were at least vaguely similar to the natural ones of this canna stand.

NIGHT'S PAINT BRUSH

"Night's Paint Brush" (5-18-15 044v2f) was just tortured from an old version of a very old pic of mine. I now have several other versions, one just in different colors from this one. But, so far, I like this one the most. I've been "stuck" in this same old folder of pix for some time now. Mostly I'd say because I'm not snapping new pix. But the full moon ("Buck Moon") is in today so maybe I'll feel like taking new pix again soon. Even came quite close to digging out my camera on my long walk earlier today, but was still just too low energy. Mananging the walker and putting one foot in front of the other, while still enjoying the view along the way, was about all I was up to. And it was actually a nicer walk than I've had recently.

JACARANDA BOUQUET

"Jacaranda Bouquet" (5-18-15 026v3a) was just further fudged out of an already heavily morphed version of an old photo of mine (not of jacaranda blossoms). BTW, jacaranda blooming season is just about completely over now. I missed the best tree displays (didn't make it for long walks in that direction and distance). And the only one near us has been having some sort of trouble for years. It blooms but not as fully and the blossoms fall extremely quickly even for jacarandas. I was tempted one day to take a single wide angle pic of the lawn, sidewalk, car and street, all heavily sprinkled with lavender, and call it "Purple Rain" if it came out decently. But I was headed home and very achy, so I just laughed at that punning reference to the famous Prince song and moved on without hauling out my camera.

DRAWING A BEAD ON THE MOON

"Drawing A Bead On The Moon" (2-08a-14 003v3a) was recently fudged out of an old version of a very old pic of mine. I have another earlier version very much like this one, but like the sort of painting-like effect of this one. BTW, those sunset colored streaks were exactly as they appear here. They're one of the few things not fussed at in some way. :-)
