MAY THERE BE RAIN

The title here, "May There Be Rain" (8-6-15 004v2b), says it all. Though (in case it isn't obvious) this was not a "maybe rain" sky shot at all. I just morphed it into a hope for rain this morning. I suppose influenced by thinking I did earlier about how to further reduce my personal water usage during this drought. BTW, this is one of those pix that I believe looks best in a larger version. The texture is more apparent (though the contrast appears lessened a wee bit). Try clicking on the image if you're interested.

WORLDS WITHIN WORLDS

Yeah, "Worlds Within Worlds" (8-26-13 001v9) reminds me of when I was a child and would crayon over a page with wild random colorful shapes. Then cover that totally with black crayon, and scrape out a glowing lines drawing on it. LOL ... maybe that's why I always get a kick out of the glowing lines Photoshop filter, even if it doesn't ultimately work for me with a particular pic. Anyway, this brand new version of an old photo has had a lot more done to it than applying the glowing lines filter. (E.g., color inversion and use of surface blur.) I especially had to work to get the lines smooth. There is an adjustment for that within the glowing lines options, but that alone was not enough. Especially given all the color work I also did. Ultimately it was two or three uses of the anistropic option under the diffuse filter that did the trick.

TRAWLING FOR COLOR

"Trawling for Color" (4-21-15 004v3v) is one of many morphs from the same fairly new source pic. A couple of which have already been posted here recently. Who gets caught up by certain shapes? (Not me!) And then endlessly enticed to see what else can be done with them ...

IT'S NOT PAINT BY NUMBERS???; and SELFIE DREAM

"It's Not Paint by Numbers???" (8-25-13 012v5) is one of those pix only its mother could love. It was tortured yesterday from an old selfie, one of several I attempted that day using my bathroom mirrors. I'd say the title is a question that too often applies to other aspects of my life. Even when something comes with instructions or someone says "Oh, I'll teach you, that's easy," it's rarely that simple. At least not for me. Fortunately (at least for the most part) I've learned to enjoy the creative aspects of fumbling my way along. And here below, another from that same old folder of selfies, just morphed this morning, "Selfie Dream" (8-25-13 003v3d):

TUNNELING TOWARD HOME

What can I say? I've always been a sucker for the sorts of bright colors in "Tunneling Toward Home" (8-25-13 015v12f). Long before the black light poster craze of my hippie years I responded joyously to them. I also discovered (purely by accident) how one of the choices under the Photoshop "diffuse" filter can effect a pic. And it solved a problem I'd been having with this one. Intriguing how things so small in the overall scheme of things, can lift my mood. Oh, as usual, I have other versions of this pic. One is up here today, on my dreams & poetry blog.

THE DEVIL YOU SAY!

"The Devil You Say!" (4-21-15 004v3u) is another version from the same source pic as yesterday's post. For some reason that I can't quite catch by the tail, it amuses me. And I'll leave it at that. (Except to add that there's another version on my dreams & poetry blog today, as well.)

IF TIGERS HAD WINGS

"If Tigers Had Wings" (4-21-15 004v3j) is one of several versions (a couple already posted to my main blogs) of an almost four month old pic. It's another of those on which I've really enjoyed taking off from the effect of the polar coordinates filter. There are many more filters and such involved in this version and the others, as once I had that basic draping wing-like effect I was like a piglet in mud. All over the place.
