IN THE TEMPLE OF THE ABSURD; COMING UNDONE; & BUTTERFINGERS

In the Temple of the Absurd (5-6-10 10005v6) above is an old selfie, just re-worked yesterday. (I'm still trying to find a decent selfie to put up as my blog profile photo. But all I wind up doing is fussing at the unsatisfactory ones I stumble across. And forget taking any new ones. Too much like effort.)

Coming Undone (5-6-10 10005v4) above is cropped from this selfie. Those shapes themselves were not changed in Photoshop. They're just re-colored and outlined. (It's actually a wobbly rubber, purple, "sprouty" ball.)

Butterfingers (5-6-10 10005v5) above is a re-working of "Coming Undone."

THE PASSING STORM

The Passing Storm (5-18-10 10014v2) is another old photo (haven't taken any new ones since before Christmas) that I just revised today. I have mixed feelings about it (so, what else is new?). I sort of like that painting-like effect, but... Ah well, its mood suits mine today. Not as a statement of fact, but of hope that storms do pass. Of course, in a realistic sense we really need rain here in Central and South Central California. This photo was taken right after a rain storm here in May of 2010. I don't recall a truly drenching one like it since then. And yes, this is a favorite corner on the grounds where I live of which I've posted other pix.

CRY ME A RIVER

Cry Me A River (10-5-11 11330ev2) is an old photo just re-worked this morning. I can still remember exactly where I took it, which is encouraging given how many senior moments I've had recently. I've been blaming the increase in number on intense stress, but who knows? I did just turn 70. Hm, maybe I should be grateful for all the learning of new programs I've had to do recently. Keeps the ole brain cells popping! As to the photo? Now that I see it here in "preview" I'm a lot less content with it. Ah well, I'll post it anyway.

AN OCTOPUS'S GARDEN; & ALIEN LANDING

An Octopus's Garden (10-5-11 11346v2), above, is an old photo just re-worked today. And, yes, that title is with thanks to the old Beatles song.

Alien Landing (10-5-11 11346v3), below, is the same photo, also fussed with this morning:

Neither of these really pleases me, but I don't have the inclination -- much less the patience, it's a very cranky day so far -- to work on anything else. One might think then that I'd skip a day here. One would be wrong as it seems compulsion even overrides a bad/sad/achy jointed mood.

THE WITNESS

The Witness (4-20-12 11737ev2) is an old selfie I no more expected to work on today than I expected to win the Lottery. I wanted to post something, but also was tired of that new folder of pix I've been stuck in and didn't feel like going through the messy piles of notes I have on pix that I could use or re-work. So I just opened a folder at random, and there were some old selfies.

I actually posted this one here in a more "realistic" version quite some time ago and I like what I did to it today much more. But probably due more to my bad blue mood than anything else. And isn't it strange I'd bump into an old picture of myself just as I turn 70? Then again, maybe not so strange. I do believe our brains store much more information than we have ready access to. So I could very well have intuitively gone to this folder. In any case, I share the result for whatever it may be worth. (A last comment: I can actually see how much heavier my face was in this pic than it is now after a 40 lb. loss. Believe it or not, that almost kept me from sharing this. "Vanity, thy name is woman!")
