FUCHSIA RAMBLE

"Fuchsia Ramble" (6-1-12 12054v2) is an old version of an old pic, just re-cropped a little bit for posting today. I also saturated the colors somewhat; I'm such a sucker for fuchsia. And I wish I knew what these flowers are called. I just scrolled through an endless display of pix of similar blossoms that Google coughed up on an image search. The only ones that came close were either pansies or petunias. Given all the pix I looked at I'm inclined to think these are petunias, though I'd not thought petunias came in such small blossoms and in a bush-like cluster. However, what I know about flora wouldn't fill a thimble. Still, not knowing rarely really matters, as I so delight in the sights. BTW, this is one of those pix that looks a bit better in a larger version, so click on the pic if you'd like to see more of the details and contrasts.

HEART OF THE SEED

"Heart of the Seed" (4-29-12 11819ev3) was just morphed this morning from an old version of an even older pic. As with many of the pix I've been posting for months now, the earlier version of that original photo was re-discovered during my on-going archiving/deleting project.

SUMMER FIELD

"Summer Field" (10-31-12 12238v3a) was just now morphed from an old version of an even older pic. I had a devil of a time today producing something I could feel OK about posting. I kept opening folders hoping to find something already there, waiting simply to be posted, no fuss, no bother. But anything I liked also cried out for some sort of work or suggested a morph I could not resist. Yet none of the work or morphing was ultimately satisfying. Until with this one. I like its unusual (for me) color combo, and its textures and shapes. Also, how it brought to mind childhood memories of lolling around in fields filled with wild flowers.

LAGNIAPPE

"Lagniappe" (4-25-12 11794v9) ... can you guess? Is one of many different versions and crops I have of the source pic. All the others are in fantasatical color combos. This one is the color of the rose in the original source photo.

RISE OF THE STANDING STONES

"Rise of the Standing Stones" (5-27-15 017v6) was morphed from a new photo. What else can I say about it. It's obviously been heavily fudged with in Photoshop (and MS Picture Manager). When it first appeared on my screen a few days ago I thought to title it "Taking the Leap." But I have ancient stone circles on my mind since some showed up vaguely in a dream the other night. And all I can see now is a sentient Stonehenge under the moonlight.

CONVERGENT CHROMOSOMES; & THE TIGER MELTS

"Convergent Chromosomes" (10-1-11 11319ev18) is one of many (even more than is my usual wont) versions of an old pic. I fussed with it slightly today, increasing the contrast a wee bit to bring out those little bits of white. And that's all it seemed to need, at least on this viewing. Who knows how I'll feel down the road a piece. Ooops, below now is another version I just morphed after typing that immediately previous sentence about "Who knows..." called "The Tiger Melts" (10-1-11 11319ev18a):

When I say "just morphed" it's not as simple as that. Finding the "right" color combos once I inverted the black/white/gray, then the contrast that works for me took a bit of trial and error. However, there's nothing else I'd rather be doing on a day when I'm endlessly cranky. That sort of focus is a great pacifier, at least for the time I'm actually engaged in it.

SEEKING THE SUN

"Seeking the Sun" (5-12-11 10933v7) is from an old photo of which I have (surprise, surprise!) several versions. I've been working on this one for quite some time this morning, trying to fix it's various problems. As I really do like it otherwise. But I've not fully succeeded and now have no more time left to go to some other folder and choose a different pic for posting. So here it is, beauty among the flaws.
