THE SNEEZE

"The Sneeze" (10-05-15 7296e6) ... Hm, maybe I should say that until further notice all pix posted here have been reclaimed during my on-going huge archiving/deleting project. Rather than re-stating it each day. However, I know that just when I settle on that, I'll start posting newer photos. In fact, that might very well have been the case today except that I'm running way behind and haven't yet loaded the pix I took today to my computer. As to "The Sneeze" it's one of many versions I've fussed out of the original over the years. The original's one of those that I like a lot but also have huge problems with, yet still won't let go of. Especially as I have made one other version (posted here a long time ago) that works even better, I think, than this one. So I keep working on it when I come across it.

MOON WITH STARS

"Moon With Stars" (12-2-09 8422e) ... can you guess? ... was just reclaimed from the endless archiving/deleting work I'm doing on my pix. It's another photo that I'd always liked but somehow not enough to post. Not to mention I'll bet I didn't want to do the painting out of distracting background schmutz that it needed. Once I did that clean up work, I was quite content with it. Not "over the moon" (to extend the title's metaphor), but happy enough.

DEEP SEA DANCE

"Deep Sea Dance" (11-24-09 8283ev7a) also hails from that huge photo archiving project I'm doing. It was morphed, though, just yesterday from a very old pic. In spite of the tendency to produce new pix from the old ones I'm going through, the balance is still more on the side of actually weeding out many of my 10,000+ photos (either deleting or archiving on an external hard drive).

5 O'CLOCK SHADOW

"5 O'Clock Shadow" (11-28-09 8342ev2) is from that on-going photo archiving work I'm doing. (10,000+ pix will take a long time to get through. Especially as I keep finding ones I want to work on, right then.) It's been in this form for years and I'm not sure why I've not wanted to post it before. Could be I just didn't stumble across it since it's from late 2009, which is a huge number of folders away from February of 2015. All I did to this version that has been sitting there all this time, was to ever so slightly sharpen it to bring out the fuzz a bit more. (Actually, I take it back, after seeing it in blogger just now I remember what my problems with this pic were. But, hey, they are minor -- at least to my eye -- and I like it anyway.)

WOOPS!

Yup, "Woops!" (11-29-09 8405e) is another of those really old pix reclaimed in my on-going archiving process. I've always liked it but just couldn't figure out what was wrong with it. It was clear it needed some background cleaning (painting out of distracting bits), which I started to do. Then I realized what it could probably use even more was a cropping. I tend to be very attached to the rectangular shape for a photo, so often a square shape is a last resort. As it was here. But it turns out to be what the pic had needed all along. And happily, once cropped there was only the tiniest bit of painting out left to do.

CAROUSEL OF STARS

"Carousel of Stars" (11-19-09 8256v11) was just morphed out of a very old already edited pic that I unearthed in my current archiving work. It's now got more layers to it than any very deep archaelogical dig ever could, given all the filters and such I applied. But I still like it. What can I say? I'm readily seduced by pix and shapes and shadows that are suggestive to my peculiar imagination. As are the ones in this pic.
