INTIMATE WITH THE NIGHT

"Intimate with the Night" (12-6-17 005v5e) is fudged from an original pic that's not quite two months old. Nothing much else to say except that I trust my judgment even less than usual since it's of those trees in Anisqoyo Park I so enjoy looking at and trying to get good shots of.

MAKING LOVE TO THE EARTH

"Making Love to the Earth" (11-17-17 025v2) was just morphed from a pic that's about two months old. As I've said many times before here, I adore these sorts of tree roots. What else to say about it. Hm, I inverted the colors, then took the colors back as close to natural as possible. That's why that bit of "radiating light." It's also been diffused a couple of times and sharpened a wee bit. BTW, this is best viewed in a larger version in order to see that "radiating light" effect I've mentioned -- so just click on the image if you're interested.

THE OLD STAG

Before going on to today's pic, let me apologize for yesterday's photomorph. It fits in the category I call "What the hell was I thinking when I posted that one?" Not much apparently. :-) Now, to "The Old Stag" (1-18-18 001v6) above: it was fudged very recently from a new pic. I have taken many other shots over the months of this tree, some of them closer in or even further away. It's a challenge in many different ways to get a pic of this gorgeous old, twisty tree, that turns out to be what I saw when snapping the pic. Of course, that's really always the challenge I face. Only sometimes it's a greater challenge than others. This pic comes very close to what I saw/felt when standing there, trying to figure out which angle would produce the best shot(s). The biggest part of the challenge is, honestly, the time of day I'm taking pix. The sun is always in the wrong place and/or way too bright. And not being a tech-head (the camera manual instructions for white balance, and such, fall right out of this right-brain dominated mind) I do a lot of flying by the seat of my pants while crossing my fingers. (Now there's an image for you! LOL.)

AUTUMN'S WEB

"Autumn's Web" (12-2-17 002v6) was just morphed from a fairly new pic. Not over the moon about it, but kinda, sorta like that web-like look that dying vine took on as I fussed at it. Best viewed in a larger version to see the mess of details, so just click on the pic if you're interested.

PUSHING THE ENVELOPE

"Pushing the Envelope" (9-29-09 7174v8) was just "finished" after morphing it endlessly yesterday. It's original pic is one of my oldest. Between this blog and my dreams&poetry blog, this is the fourth version of it I've shared in recent days. Click here if you'd like to see an additional, very different version I posted today to my dreams&poetry blog. BTW, yesterday's pic post here is also from the same photo. You might also want to click on "Pushing the Envelope" to see it in a larger version; it's got lots of little scratchy details. :-) ... and the color contrasts show up better in a bigger version.
