TRANSMUTATION

"Transmutation" is actually a fluffy-clouds-in-sky photo. I liked the two different types of "fluff" but the picture just did not do anything for me at all. So I fooled around with color, contrast, and focus. And these results I sort of like. Lots of different associations to its images. One of them to the stylized clouds in Tibetan paintings. Also to surf retreating from beach's edge, and to the transmutation of lead into gold that is sought after in alchemy. So I'm glad I didn't give up on this initially "blah" photo.

Just recalled that today is Thanksgiving (for decades holidays have not been major deals in my life). However I do hope everyone has had a wonderful day. And lest I come across ungrateful, I'll simply add that I do recognize there is much for which to be thankful, which I am.

SOLAMENTE VIOLIN

Nothing much I can say about "Solamente Violin." I took it this spring in that favorite patch of cannas on our grounds. Right now that patch is looking rather dreary and it will for a while. Even here in California we have a winter of sorts. I guess I chose this to post today because its vibrant colors briefly cheer me. Not to mention those curving shapes. Yes, they were apparent live -- which is what drew me to snap the photo to begin with (along with the sun making rainbow colors). But the curves in the resultant photo are more emphasized; maybe due to going from 3D to 2D. In any case, it's an effect I've really enjoyed before, especially with colorful canna leaves.
