COLORS OF THE DAY

"Colors of the Day" (12-23-09 10048v2) was just now slightly edited from it's very old version. I don't even have the original pic anymore. Which shows how old it is for I only deleted original pix after making "new and improved" versions for a very short time, way back almost 8 years ago. I've been saving originals since then, "just in case" ... and there have been many "...in cases" along the way. As to this pic, it's one I've always liked. Probably mostly because I so like looking at these sorts of canna leaves. Though I haven't seen a stand of them both as healthy and colorful as this one in many years, not even this one (which is on our community's grounds). I should add, though it's probably obvious, that the colors in this pic version are saturated to bring out the -- shall I call them -- undertones.

CRECIENTE

"Creciente" (3-14-17 015v2) was just morphed from a totally fogged in seascape. I kept seeing vague shades of other colors as I adjusted the blue/aqua fog and water to be truer to my memory. Who knows if my memory was all that accurate, but I knew what I wanted...smile. So I went for it and brought out the shades, which of course brought out other colors, too. Then I was "off and running" and following down what began to suggest a sunrise.

BTW, so as not to shame my family name of Kelly, let me wish everyone a very HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!!

LOST HORIZON

"Lost Horizon" (3-14-17 030v2) was just taken today. I'm not sure what others might think of a shot like this, but I like it. It really does evoke what I saw standing there earlier today. Did very little to it but crop it slightly. And fuss a little bit with colors and shadows to balance all that fogginess. My concern is whether it's clear enough for someone unfamiliar with this scene, that that's a shore line making the pic about 2/3rds ocean/sky.

SHADE TREES

"Shade Trees" (1-30-17 008v2) was just fussed out of a fairly recent pic. I frequently go by these trees and often sit beneath them to rest on my long walks. Along with that jacaranda I so love, these are quite my favorite neighbors. They're right across a driveway from housing for the homeless. (I have to find out if the building has a name -- those folk are no longer homeless, after all!) And one or another of the residents will walk by as I'm sitting there and we say hello and sometimes chat. As to this pic? No great shakes (to say the least), but it does give me a bit of the feeling I have when sitting beneath them. (Actually, I need to look really closely at this scene live, as I think it's actually one tree with a trunk growing split right from the ground so it looks like two.)

WILD FLOWER SEASON

"Wild Flower Season" (3-11-17 009v2a) was just morphed yesterday from a brand new pic. (If you'd like to see what it was before I fudged with it, click here.) "Wild Flower Season" is one of those rare pix of mine I really like. To be honest, I have an affection for all my pix but in that way a mother cares for all her kids. Some, though, engage even my own aesthetic approval. I.e., I can't find anything to pick at in them and this is one of those rare creatures.
