Full Moon Rising offers a counterbalance to yesterday's brilliantly sunny photo. It's a re-edit just done today of a three year old picture of mine that I'd hidden away in a miscellaneous folder. One of those photos that I had initially thought to delete, but decided to salt away because it might have possibilities if I took time with it. Well, it took me three years to get around to it, but I think I've found something of what I saw in it those years ago. I also think I see more ways to re-crop and re-color the way too busy and colorful original, but that can wait for another day.

Irrepressible is two and a half years old. And I was happy to stumble over it yesterday looking for photos for a project a friend has involved me in. It's bright aspect cheered me then and cheers me now. I am reminded once more to look again and again, and closer and closer at anything (literally or figuratively speaking). This flower is really a rather small one. But seeing it up close it has the impact of a sun and when one thinks of the processes that produce a living bloom, it is.

The Kiss of the Infinite is a "hot off the press" new version of one of my old photos. It's one of those that for some reason is evoking all sorts of mythological associations for me. I went through a half dozen titles before settling, very happily, on this one.

Leaving the Great Round is a another old photo. I remember taking it on the grounds of the retirement community I live in. The picture doesn't fully capture the gently suffused light as it sort of reflected from this pot of succulents (?). But it comes pretty close and today, for a change, that suffices. I.e., no trying to manipulate it on my computer. It stands just fine as is.

Hot Wings (above) is another new one from the batch I just took Saturday. And this next one below, Fanfare is of the same plant, but from a different angle:

I enjoy developing the sort of textile-like patterns these ferns often present with in photos.

100 Degrees in the Shade (above) is brand new, just taken yesterday. And, yes, it was a warm day, though I'd say it was rather more muggy than hot. Though where I lunched and visited with a friend most of the afternoon I was quite comfortable -- in a gazebo next to our pool.

Here's another I took yesterday, Eden's Apple:

I keep trying to get a good head-on shot of an epiphyllum bud when it's first out, but have yet to succeed. So wound up going artsy water-color-like with this attempt at that sort of shot. And I was awfully tempted to keep on taking photos all around our grounds yesterday. The sunny warm weather with all the blossoms and foliage made it feel like some pimoridal garden. But I listened to my knee when it gave me pause and stopped after only a couple dozen. Many of which I have yet to really work on.
