BOTTOM FEEDERS

"Bottom Feeders" (12-15-16 021v2e) was just morphed from a brand new pic, along with three other versions. I had a hard time choosing which to post as each really does something I like. Don't have time to say much more than that as I'm running way behind to get ready to go down to dinner. Clearly, though, it's been greatly fudged with. Also, the original is of those fabulous tree roots I've shared pix of here before. They just grab my imagination and abscond with it to new territory every time I work on pix of them.

AS ONE, SO THE OTHER

"As One, So the Other" (12-15-16 019v2b), well, yes, I may have gone too far with this one. And yet I still like it. Maybe it's just the novelty of enjoying messiness, which usually makes me a bit nuts in a pic. At least, what I perceive as messiness. And this one's scratchy and a mix of "styles" and just plain odd, i.e., messy. But, I like it and so here it is.

CANNAS & PALMS & SUN, OH MY!

"Cannas & Palms & Sun, Oh My!" (12-09-16 007v2d) was just now morphed from a very new pic. It went through several versions that I thought were "it," but on reflection were not. So my recycle bin has several earlier versions in it. And even this one, which in both Photoshop and Microsoft Picture Manager is fine by me, looks a wee bit washed out in the blogger program. Sigh, haven't come up against that particular problem in a while. And I don't feel like making a second, more intense version (as I've done in the past) to post here. Because I've often wondered if the same is true on other viewers' screens/operating systems. (Not to mention I then find I don't know which version to order prints of, should I want to.) 'nuff complaining ... well, I'm back now. I went haring off after a good realistic version and got exactly no place. So I'll stick with this one. As even with the slight washing out of color I perceive on my screen when viewing in the blogger program, there's a lot I like about it.

RECEPTACLE; & RECEPTACLE (#2)

"Receptacle (12-09-16 031v2a) was just fussed from a very new pic. Mostly lots of texturing (other than the conversion to black and white, and a bit of cropping). Then I tried inverting this b&w version and got:

"Receptacle (#2)" (12-09-16 031v2b) and all I did to it was blur it slightly and then re-sharpen it a wee bit.

Can't decide which I like most.  And for once I can say that I actually do like them both with no real reservations. But who can account for the taste of an old lady who was just out on a very long walk (and now has a camera full of other new pix, and a notepad with a poem in it) who's tired and cranky/hungry, and a bit rushed to get ready to go down to the dining room for dinner (smile).

MOONLESS

"Moonless" (12-09-16 02v2b) is a very new pic, just morphed this morning. There's another version, also just finished today, on my dreams&poetry blog. This version, however, reflects my mood today (and most days for a rather long time). So I'm somewhat more partial to it. Though I do really like the color contrasts in the one on my other blog. At least my mucky mood doesn't seem to preclude enjoying things that don't reflect it (smile).

THE PRESENCE OF THE PAST

"The Presence of the Past" (12-9-16 018v2) is another from that folder full of pix I have from a walk I took through I.V.'s Aniskoyo Park a few days ago. The sun was not in an optimal position to get good shots of this view. But I tried anyway, thinking maybe I could figure something out in post production. And I'm glad I decided to try the sepia tone filter (after some other fudging with texture and such). It's perfect for the old fashioned feel of the scene. BTW, I'm told that water wheel actually works (or did at one time).

IT ALWAYS FLIES APART

"It Always Flies Apart" (10-9-09 7456ev5) was just now morphed from (yup) an old version of one of my oldest pix. And, yes, it's one of those I liked a lot more when it first popped up on my screen. (Who habituates readily? Moi?) But it's all I have time for today, so here 'tis, even as my liking of it flies away.
