SCRABBLING FOR PURCHASE; & GUARDIAN AT NIGHT'S GATE

"Scrabbling for Purchase," above (11-17-17 017v2), & "Guardian at Night's Gate," below (11-17-17 021v3a), were both taken yesterday and are in a folder full of pix I took then. Probably the most I've taken in one walk for a long time.

Also took some pix of vine leaves covering a wall that are turning autumn colors, which I've yet to work on. As usual, I was drawn to these eucalyptus tree/roots and had great fun trying different angles. The day was cloudy so I didn't have to cope with/worry about bright white light messing up the shapes and shadows with "blooming" patches as I usually do. (Yeah, as I imagine I've said here before, there must be a way to compensate for that sort of thing. But, as I know I've said here, I'm no techie. I've read my camera manual, and read it again, and it doesn't stick. No patience for it. Just wanna take the pix, already! :-D)

OVER THE HILL

I realize the composition of "Over the Hill" (11-9-17 003v2) divides the pic right in half -- almost always a "no-no" in any photo or painting. However, it really doesn't disturb me, so I'm leaving it be. I like this shot as is. All I did was crop it ever so slightly to conform to the best dimensions for posting and/or printing, and fussed a little bit with color and texture. If the tree looks familiar it's with good reason; I've posted many pix of it here. And there will probably be more as the winter season is approaching and light and shadows are changing, not to mention the tree's leaves.

THE HOLE IN THE MIDDLE OF EVERYTHING

"The Hole in the Middle of Everything" (11-2-17 016v3) was just now morphed from one of those selfies I took in my Halloween costume. I think my continuing urge to fool with those Halloween pix has to do with wanting to bury all the wrinkles and sags my nigh onto 74 year old self is exhibiting, under fancy edits. LOL! However, that may be only partly a joke.

CLIMBING THE WALLS

"Climbing the Walls" (11-2-17 006v2) is clearly from Halloween. One of my "relatives," if you will. My costume was Spider Old Woman, for which I won a prize and have posted some morphed pix of here. Almost wasn't able to get the temporary spider and web tattoos off my face, neck, and backs of my hands! Then I remembered that last year I'd wound up having to use nail polish remover on some rainbow tats I'd put on. Phew! And off the spideys came. Bit by sticky bit. BTW, the desk and office pictured here is our retirement community's front office. The people who staff this desk are angels. They handle often very busy phones, and all of us other cranky old folk, live and in person, with all our questions and package pick ups, etc. They also sort the mail and put it in our mailboxes, along with other miscellaneous paper work. So I imagine that spider running away, grateful it doesn't work there. LOL!
