DESTINATION: BALI HAI

"Destination: Bali Hai" (4-15-17 002v2) was just taken today. Cropping, and a bit of color work and sharpening were all that I did to it. Wish that sailboat were larger, but my camera can't do any better. (Maybe I really should try using the zoom. Though if I remember correctly, that tends to mess with focus. Which is the last thing these ocean pix -- taken into the sun -- need is any more trouble with focus.) I wouldn't even have tried to get a pic of this sailboat, but a good friend loves sailing and I thought he might enjoy a pic of one.

ONLY HOPE HOLDS IT TOGETHER

"Only Hope Holds It Together" (5-30-10 10008v2b) was just now morphed from an (need I even type it? :-D) old version of a much older pic. Lots done to it; don't remember the half of it, and that's just what I did to it today. As to the title, I usually avoid the word hope as I tend to relate to it as a useless (to be flat out honest) traitor. But something got through to me this morning. (And not that I haven't heard this can be true.) When one really believes/experiences that there's nothing left? Well, at the bottom of that echoing empty well there's always hope, if one chooses to take it on as a way of going on. Ack. Sticky, unreliable old hope that has always ultimately failed me big time in years gone past when I've needed it most. But sometimes it seems the loneliness is so bad even hope is better company than none. Jeeze! I sound like a old country western song. Not surprising, though, as I've been bingeing on it for days now.

AROUSAL

"Arousal" (5-30-10 10013v4a) was just now morphed from (yup!) an old version of an old pic. Any X-rating suggestiveness is deliberate. Though in my defense I did not set out to suggest anything, but simply followed what popped on the screen of my mind at one point as I was fussing at this pic. That is the particular focus of my attention was roused for the rest of the editing process. Which when it comes to things X-rated, I blush to admit, is not all that hard to do these days.

BLUE LADY RISING

"Blue Lady Rising" (8-10-10 10018v3b) was just re-morphed from an old morph of an even older pic. I miss this statue in our promenade garden. The area is totally changed; filled with drought tolerant flora but no more intriguing birdbaths or statues, or big lush trees. However, a great many of the newer fern pix I share here are from this same area.

HOLDING OFF THE NIGHT

"Holding Off the Night" (8-26-10 10002ev3b) was just now morphed from a very old version (as often) of an even older pic. Not sure I like it all that much, but the color combo really grabs me so I'm posting it. I did do some further experimenting with texture, etc. But any changes only took something essential away from its effect. I'd even settled on one of those further morphs when I caught a glimpse of this one and thought, nah, Kelly, leave well enough alone for a change.

WHAT A PUNIM!

"What A Punim!" (1-9-10 18896ea) was just fudged a bit from a very old version of an even older pic. I thought its title would at least acknowledge in a very small way that today is Passover (punim is yiddish for face, BTW). Not to mention that I've always liked the way the leaves on the left almost present the red/yellow one to the viewer, as if saying "look at this." FYI, I did not fudge with the leaf shapes at all, that's how they were live. But I did intensify the colors. However, they, too, were there, if understated.
