Cock of the Walk (above) is another version of the one I posted two new versions of yesterday. Maybe someday I'll share the original, too. In any event, I'm enjoying continuing to work with it for some reason.

And here's a fourth version below, Dancing the Night Away:

The original was taken with an even lower pixel count capacity camera than my current one. So any fussing, especially cropping, negatively effects the focus. However (as I've said way too many times before here about a photo) there's still something I like about these about to go wonky photos. Though I definitely don't offer them as examples of what I might consider my better work.

Fading Dreams is another very old photo, just re-worked this morning. I realize that most probably the only antidote to my increasing disatisfaction with what I'm producing is to take some new photos. But I've just not been up to doing so. Therefore, I've been silencing that nigh on to compulsive urge I have every day to do something visual by working on older pix -- the newest taken weeks back, the oldest years ago.

Here's another version from the same original that "Fading Dreams" is from, Wake Me When It's Time To Go:

That title's almost bigger than the picture. Ah, well, I've never denied that I'm as verbal as I am visual in orientation. I hasten to add there's a tactile element involved. I can recall as a child the pleasure I took from the feel of manipulating crayons, paints, and pencils, paste and scissors. The same pleasure I get from typing and using a mouse. All that said, I hope something of what I was aiming for and almost "caught by the hem" is apparent in these two photo versions.

Christmas Bouquet is an old photo, the colors on which I changed a bit this morning to reflect those for the holiday season. (The original is more in the dark pink/fuchsia family.) I do hope your holidays are proving to be delightful.

Winter Star (above) is the photo I used in my email holiday greeting card this year. It's a very new revision of a several month's old picture I posted here some time ago. I first inverted the colors, then changed and saturated them. I also made a more obviously holiday season version, but just can't get that neon green at the center softened without losing the nice reds as well; it's unused and untitled (below):

* * * MERRY CHRISTMAS, or A BLESSED YULE, or whatever festival of light you celebrate this time of year! * * *

I chose The Source of All Gold to post today because it reminds me of sunlight which, even as winter deepens, hangs around a wee bit longer each successive day.

Hey, What's Here? (above) is a new revision of a new photo, as is Sneaking Out (below).

I'm not all that happy with either version, but am slightly partial to "Hey, What's Here?" at the top of this post. I've been looking through and working on pictures for a while this morning and not getting much of any place. So thought I'd stop with these two. What drew me to even try with this particular crop is the shapes of the fern leaves and those starting to grow between the banister rails on the left. I'd crop in on the left even closer but the photo would go totally wonky then. Sigh. Excuses, excuses. I'll let it suffice that I see the flaws in these versions, but also see stuff at which I enjoy looking. These join my growing collection of "maybe I'll come back and try again some other time" photos.
