THREE SISTERS

These particular roses have been blooming and I haven't taken the time to dig out my camera and try some shots. (Excuses, excuses ... wrong time of day, my knee hurts, I'm in a rush to meet someone, etc., etc.) "Three Sisters" (12-24-13 005v2) was just cleaned up a bit today from an old version of an almost five year old pic of mine. I stumbled across it looking for a particular photo of mine for a birthday greeting for a friend. The way I keep records of my pix works well almost all the time. But once in a while I have to go on a frustrating, extended hunt to find some old pic. But that always turns out to be a positive thing in the long run, as I come across lots of old pix I'd forgotten about, or not looked at in years.

MITOCHONDRIAL IMPERATIVES

"Mitochondrial Imperatives" (9-29-09 7174v7a) was just morphed out of a very old morph of an ancient original pic of mine. One of those for which I have many different versions. Yet I couldn't leave them all well enough alone and simply chose one to post. Had to run with what they were doing to my imagination this morning and torture another version out of one of them. The results of which torture you see above.

I CANNA UNDERSTAND IT

Yeah, hope it's not boring but here's another morphing of a canna pic, but an old pic, one of my oldest. Ah well, what diff that, given it's abstract. Though some canna leave stripes can still be seen in this version I just finished torturing out of a pic of a single orange canna bloom among leaves. I "canna" understand my fascination with cannas. But there you have it, I am.

THE SEASON FOR BLUES

"The Season for Blues" (7-29-09 4616) is a very old pic, just recently re-cropped and color adjusted a wee bit. Love these blossoms -- that are out this time of year, BTW. Especially in this color. They're also spectacular in white. But my favorite, I have to admit, is a gorgeous purple ... but purple's the one I've seen the least of and have never managed to photograph as it's always been from the window of a moving car. Yeah, there's ways to take those sorts of pix, but this wannabe photog has never learned how. So I enjoy the pix I get on foot, of these blossoms in white and sometimes in this delightful blue.

SOMEHOW, IT ALL HANGS TOGETHER

"Somehow, It All Hangs Together" (5-13-18 034v2f) is a new morph of a new pic of mine. It reminds me of a big, completed jigsaw puzzle. BTW, the original is of that stand of canna leaves and flowers/buds, that I keep going on about here recently. Of course, I've obviously let my imagination take me far from those leaves. Though, in a way, not really. These colors and puzzle shapes are there "live," if only suggested.

THE WIND BEFORE THE RAIN

Not all that jazzed about "The Wind Before the Rain" (5-13-18 010v3d) but I have neither the energy nor the patience to try working on some other pic. And I've taken this one about a far as it can go at this point. So here 'tis. At least I enjoy it because it's of those canna leaves I so like looking at, that grow right by the pool in our retirement community. And I'm afraid to say I identify these days with being tossed about by the early edge of storm winds.
