EVEN FERNS HAVE THEIR DREAMS

"Even Ferns Have Their Dreams" (8-12-14 013v4) was just morphed from an old version of an old pic. (Yeah, not taking many new pix these days.) Have very mixed feelings about it. I like the various textures a lot, but can't get the color contrasts "right." Ah well, will leave any further struggle toward that dream for some other pic, and post this one as it is. Nothing can ever be perfect anyway.

TOO MANY MEMORIES

"Too Many Memories" (8-12-14 016v4) is an old version of an old pic that I just stumbled across opening folders at random looking for something in the realistic vein to post for a change. These staircases are on the grounds of the retirement community I live in. And I have many, many pix of these and other outside staircases here as they always have such interesting shadows around and on them. I haven't been looking as closely at them since I started taking long walks to the beach and Isla Vista (both walks afford slews of interesting things to snap pix of). But posting this pic today may give me the taste again for taking pix closer to home. :-)

SEEKING IT'S OWN LEVEL

"Seeking It's Own Level" (10-7-14 013v5f) was morphed quite a long time ago from an old pic, and just now fussed at a bit (brightening of contrast and a little texture work). Nothing much else to say except that I'm trying to learn from that old expression hinted at in the title: water seeks it's own level ... if I let it and don't keep stirring things up. Big Wry Laugh.

PROBING THE OCEAN

"Probing the Ocean" (5-27-17 020v2b) was morphed a few days ago from a fairly new pic. Just can't resist taking pix of eucalyptus tree roots with the serious intent to morph the behoositz out of 'em. BTW, although I did a great deal to this pic in Photoshop, I did not do anything to the root shapes/lines. They are as they were in the original pic. Yeah, some of the changes in texture I made gave them softer, ever so slightly more curving edges, but that's all. Those roots are naturally, all by themselves, fascinating (at least to me). Of course, being such a slim pic, viewing it in a larger version is best (just click on the image).

SEA OF FIRE

"Sea of Fire" (6-4-17 039v3f) was just morphed yesterday -- along with other versions -- from a fairly new pic. (Click here to see one of the others, posted to my dreams&poetry blog this morning.) "Sea of Fire" is one of those that, yes, looks better in a larger version. And not only as usual to see the details, but for some reason to get a better over all feel of it. I've noticed (more often than I mention it here) that the scale of a pic can heavily effect it's impact/impression. And that larger is frequently, though not always, better.
